On 30th October the research "Le tombe dei soldati britannici sepolti in Sardegna" (published in the "Volume VI - Quaderni della Associazione Italia-Inghilterra")was launched. Speakers included Paolo Marcias, author, and Col. Charlie Darell, Defence and Military Attachè at the British Embassy in Rome.

Sardinia in the Writings of the English Travellers
|
On 25th the Sala Settecentesca, library of the University of Cagliari hosted a conference on the writings of English travellers of the 18th and 19th century in Sardinia.
The speakers were:
Vanessa Hall-Smith, director of British Institute of Florence
and the authors and editors of a number of publications on the subject: Lucio Artizzu, Maria Luisa Argiolas, Raffaele Cherchi, Maria Grazia Dongu, Gian Carlo Fastame, Luciano Marrocu, Giovanna Sotgiu, Alberto Sega.

On 11th November at the THotel opened the exhibition by the fotographer John Margolies.56 color prints from his endless collection on American architecture. Both the author and the cultural attaché of the American Embassy on Rome attended the opening.

20th Anniversary Celebrations

On 9th November we celebrated our 20th Anniversary together with H.M. Ambassador Chaplin and presented to the press, members and friends the book "20 Years - Our History, 1987-2007". Soon after followed Allan MacDonald, Scottish Highland Bagpiper in Concert.

On 15th December we presented our research on what the British press wrote about Sardinia between November 2005 and December 2006. We seached 186 papers and traced 256 articles.

On 23rd November the distinguished pianist Marguerite Wolff, OBE for the contribution to English music, performed Chopin and Schumann to the delight of a large audience.

On 15th November Mr Michael Lugton - Head of the Constitutional and Parliamentary Secretariat in the Scottish Executive gave a lecture, accompanied by slides, on the progress of devolution in Scotland.
The talk, introduced by Professor Gianmario Demuro, an expert in constitutional issues in the Faculty of Jurisprudence at the University of Cagliari, was organised in collaboration with the British Embassy, the British Consulate and the Scottish Executive in Edinburgh.

On 21st May we presented this book on the history of Sardinia written by Prof. Rowland from Loyola University, New Orleans and published by the ArchaeoPress, Oxford. The author spoke at the presentation and was introduced by Dott. Carlo Tronchetti, Director of the Soprintendenza Archeologica di Cagliari e Oristano.
