1. Who can join the Italia-Inghilterra?
Anybody, irrespective of age or knowledge of English.
2. What benefits do members have?
There are many benefits. You can borrow videos, books, magazines and audio cassettes from our book and video library, have access to a large amount of information about Britain and other English-speaking countries but, above all, you can take part in the social life of the society: from "Bring a bottle" parties to lectures in English, from meetings with leading people from the British cultural scene to the planning of cultural events.
3. How do I become a member?
It couldn't be simpler. Come and see us (any time between 15.30 - 20.30 from Monday to Friday) and complete an application form. You can use our services straight away. Annual membership costs 50,00 euros.
4. How are the English courses organised?
Our courses are divided by level (from beginners to post-proficiency). Lessons are held twice weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays according to the following timetable:
afternoon courses: 15.00 - 16.30 or 16.30 - 18.00
evening courses: 18.30 - 20.00 or 20.00 - 21.30
Fridays are reserved for catch-up and conversation lessons.
Courses begin in October and February and end in February and June respectively. Each course lasts 62 classroom hours, divided into two weekly lessons of 90 minutes each + 12 hours of conversation and catch up lessons.
5. Are the teachers native English speakers?
Yes, all our teachers are native English speakers, with university degrees, qualifications in the teaching of English as a foreign language (TEFL or CELTA) and many years of teaching experience. They are also friendly, creative people.
6. Will I be given a certificate at the end of the course?
Of course, the certificate indicates the level reached by the student.
7. What other services are offered?
- Group catch-up lessons for those who have missed normal lessons due to study or work committments or illness
- Group conversation lessons to improve fluency and confidence with the language
- over 570 films on videocassette
- over 200 graded readers with audio cassettes
- a selection of seven weekly magazines
in brief, a vast selection of materials to satisfy all tastes and levels, but, above all, a friendly environment with the Director always on hand to offer help and advice.
8. Do you prepare students for Cambridge, TOEFL and IELTS examinations?

9. What happens if I am forced to interrupt my course?
The course is "put on ice" and can be taken up again the year after.
10. Can I join the society and not necessarily take an English course?
Yes, membership costs 50,00 euros and gives you the right to use any of the materials in our book and video library and self-study centre; to attend our lectures, exhibitions, and seminars and above all, to take part in the social life of the society and take an active part in planning cultural events.
11. If I join the society will I be able to meet and chat with native English speakers?
You will have plenty of possibilities to meet our native speaker members at events.
12. I would like to study in Britain or the US, can you help me?
We certainly can - see the section marked Studying abroad on the pages entitled Services.
13. I would like to work in Britain, can you help me?

14. I would like to go to Britain or the US on holiday, can you help me?
